Sarah’s creative process is influenced by contemplative practice and Zen philosophy. She believes that art allows us to find the answers we seek in our personal and spiritual lives, both in the seeing of work as well as the creative act. She is drawn to transitory moments and the space between darkness and light, motion and stillness. In this place, presence leads to flashes of enlightenment.

Through approaching each image with a previsualized idea in mind, Sarah allows spontaneity and chance to take over, staying open to what unfolds. This approach results in photography that feels timeless, singular, and quietyly emotional.
